Galaxy A56 is adding even more artificial intelligence to its range of low-cost phones. With what the firm refers to as “awesome intelligence,” the new Galaxy A56, A36, and A26 can now use a variety of AI-powered picture editing functions that are already available with Samsung’s more expensive S25 family.

One of these capabilities is Best Face, an AI tool that allows you to change up to five people’s facial expressions in a motion picture if someone looks away from the camera or blinks. It debuted in January alongside the Galaxy S25 and is comparable to the Google Pixel’s Best Take.

Galaxy A56 Along with Google’s Circle to Search function, which lets you search for text and photos by just circling them on your screen, there are also “improved” object removal tools and photo filters. (In August of last year, Samsung enabled Circle to Search for a few A-series handsets.) Additionally, the phones will provide security and Android OS updates for up to six years, which is longer than what Samsung previously provided for the previous version.

Galaxy A56 made minor design changes to each phone in addition to adding new AI features. Instead of the smaller 6.6-inch screen on the A55 and A35 and the 6.5-inch screen on the A25, all three devices now have the same 6.7-inch full HD Plus display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, along with an oval-shaped rear camera housing. The same 50MP primary camera, 5MP macro camera, and 12MP ultrawide sensor are included with the A56. Additionally, it sports a 12MP selfie camera, which is less than the 32MP front-facing sensor on the A55.

The A36 uses a last-generation Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, whereas the A56 has an updated Exynos 1580 chip. All three of the A-series devices include a 5,000mAh battery, however only the A56 and A36 have a “larger vapor chamber” to enhance performance and allow 45W charging. Additionally, Samsung has added IP67 water and dust resistance to the A26 for the first time. The phones will come in a variety of colors that differ depending on the model and will be shipped with Android 15.
