The Infinix Hot 50 5G, which starts at Rs 9,999, has a big battery, an excellent rear camera, and a thin design. We believe it to be one of the best options in this price range. For additional information, see India Today Tech’s in-depth review.

To Put It Briefly

  • The 48-megapixel rear camera of the Infinix Hot 50 5G produces sharp images.
  • Although it has a 5,000mAh battery, the charging pace is sluggish.
  • It has a 6.7-inch HD+ screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The Infinix Hot 50 5G, the company’s entry-level model, has been released in India. This smartphone has high-end features and starts at Rs 9,999. The Infinix Hot 50 5G boasts a 48-megapixel Sony IMX582 camera and a thin 7.8mm build. With the Hot 50 5G, the business really promises “5 years of seamless performance.” Along with 128GB of storage and a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor, it has 8GB of RAM. Naturally, though, it is not perfect. Let us examine the real-world performance of the Infinix Hot 50 5G.

Infinix Hot 50 5G : Gorgeous, slim design

One typically assumes that a smartphone priced around Rs 10,000 will have a large form factor in order to provide extended battery life. Even with its 5,000mAh battery, the Infinix Hot 50 5G is unique because of its sleek, 7.8mm thickness, and high-end appearance.

7.8mm thickness is typically associated with more costly phones, despite the fact that many OEMs are increasingly striving for a sleek design even in the entry-level category. The Infinix Hot 50 5G is still thinner than the Moto G45 5G, which was released last month; the latter has a thickness of 8.03mm.

A triple auxiliary lens, typically utilized for macro photography, and a twin camera arrangement oriented vertically are included on the rear panel. The Sage Green version, which I have been using, has a lovely matte finish and a very light glitter. For a phone that costs Rs 10,000, it seems rather elegant. Having said that, the phone wobbles from one end when placed on its back due to the camera module’s excessive protrusion.

All things considered, the Infinix Hot 50 5G has an amazing appearance, a large screen, is comfortable to hold, and feels rather robust.

Infinix Hot 50 5G : Big and beautiful display

The 6.7-inch HD+ display of the Infinix Hot 50 has a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It has a dynamic island that resembles an iPhone; Infinix dubbed it the dynamic bar. This shows details about incoming calls, the media player, animations for charging, and face lock animations.

It is a fluid show. It is also sufficiently bright to display vibrant colors even in direct sunlight. Although the bezels are small, I wish they were more consistent. The bottom border of the display has a thicker bezel. Additionally, the Infinix Hot 50 has wet-finger touch identification, which enables the phone to detect touches even when your hands are damp. The smartphone has an IP54 water resistant grade confirmed.

All in all, using the smartphone to read articles, browse Instagram, and watch YouTube videos has been enjoyable.

Infinix Hot 50 5G : Performance

What are your expectations about the performance of an entry-level smartphone? A reliable phone connection, an enjoyable movie watching experience, a fluid social media scroll, and a strong battery life. Infinix Hot 50 5G succeeds in all of these areas. A MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset with two RAM configurations—4GB and 8GB—powers it. Utilizing XOS 14, a system built on top of Android 14, the gadget offers a satisfactory experience.

That being said, the phone has a cluttered user interface and a lot of software. Many popular applications, like Instagram, Snapchat, Messenger, and others, are pre-installed on it. In this regard, the Moto G45 5G has no bloatware and a quite tidy user interface for the same price.

I also performed additional benchmark tests on the Infinix Hot 50 5G to evaluate its performance even more. On Geekbench, the gadget registered single-core speeds of 736 and multi-core speeds of 1950. Although these scores provide you with an indication of the performance, they are not the sole factor.

The Moto G45 5G, which scored 2118 for multi-core and 904 for single-core, outperformed the Hot 50 in both categories. After a week of use, I can say that the Infinix Hot 50 5G is every bit as excellent as the Moto G45 5G. In fact, because of its larger display, I would suggest the Infinix Hot 50 5G for a better viewing experience.

The gadget received a stability score of 99.5 percent in the 3D Mark Wildlife Extreme stress test, with a top loop score of 367. This is significantly higher than the Redmi 13 5G, which was released last month at a starting price of Rs 13,999.

Even if the phone performs well, there are some issues. Occasionally, it lags and slows down. This typically occurs when the battery is less than 20% or when you use the phone nonstop for an extended amount of time.

But overall, the performance is strong. We also overtaxed the phone, which is mostly why we experienced latency. The phone should be able to provide a seamless experience for the typical user.

Infinix Hot 50 5G : Long battery life, but slow charging speed

With ease, the Infinix Hot 50 5G can function for more than a day. It has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W rapid charging. I have been testing its batteries for a while now because I use it as my daily car, and I am pleased with how well it performs. The phone’s battery lasts throughout the whole day, even with intensive use. However, the charging pace is sluggish. To completely charge the gadget from 0% to 100%, it took me close to 2.5 hours. Although a slow charging pace is beneficial for the longevity of the battery, it does need patience.

However, the firm claims that the phone’s AI charge function could be the reason for the sluggish charging. The AI battery in the phone is something that Infinix has been promoting. But in my opinion, it is merely a ruse. In order to preserve the health of the battery, the AI charge function is meant to assist the phone in tracking the charging pattern.

It also automatically adjusts the charging rate for this. This is also intended to improve battery health and solve heating issues. While this method seems fantastic in theory, it may also be a clever marketing ploy for its sluggish battery charging.

The Portrait mode is not a true pro; the Pro mode is

With more than 12 camera settings, the 48-megapixel dual-rear camera on the Infinix Hot 50 5G is impressive. AI technology built into the camera facilitates the capture of Instagram-worthy images. Despite being slightly oversaturated, the images nonetheless create colors that are rather realistic. Beautiful images may be captured with the back camera, particularly in well-lit settings. The Pro mode lives up to its moniker. Crisp and detailed pictures are captured while using this setting.

Nevertheless, the phone’s camera has trouble in portrait mode. Actually, there is hardly any difference between the photos taken in portrait and standard mode.

The phone sports an 8-megapixel camera on the front for taking selfies and making video calls. Although I prefer to turn off the beauty mode, even when it is used, the phone just removes imperfections rather than giving your face a heavily makeup appearance.

Slow shutter speed is another issue that we have seen with practically all entry-level cellphones. Unless the camera and the item are absolutely stationary, processing the image takes time and delays the real photo I sought. Additionally, this causes hazy pictures.

All things considered, the Infinix Hot 50 camera functions well.

Infinix Hot 50 5G: Should you buy it?

The Infinix Hot 50 5G released in India at a starting price of Rs 9,999 and with bank incentives you may purchase it for a reduced price. Within this pricing range, the smartphone is a great device. It boasts an exquisite display, a lag-free performance, a luxury appearance, and a battery life of more than a day. Without a doubt, we would suggest the phone within this price range. But, if you are still looking for alternatives, the Redmi 13 is also a decent choice if you can slightly stretch your budget, and the Moto G45 5G is a strong rival.
