The year 2024 is coming to a close. Apple, Google, and Samsung have released their top smartphones for 2024. Have we finished with the smartphone releases for this year? Not exactly. There are still some important launches that have not occurred yet. The iQOO 13, OnePlus 13, Vivo X200 series, and M4 Macs are all set to be released before the year is over. Below is a comprehensive list with extensive information on all upcoming smartphone releases scheduled for the final quarter of 2024.
OnePlus 13
OnePlus China President Louis Lee has confirmed the October launch of the OnePlus 13 in China. Although the specific release date is not known, speculation suggests that the device will include Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which will greatly improve performance. Importantly, the phone is configured to provide a 120fps gaming experience for “Genshin Impact,” which will attract gamers.
The OnePlus 13 is anticipated to feature a revamped camera design different from previous models and may keep the 2K resolution screen. One potential new addition could be an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor designed to provide quicker and enhanced security during the unlocking process.
Rumors indicate that the OnePlus 13 might come with 24GB of RAM, enabling AI functions and enhancing multitasking capabilities. It is expected that the camera arrangement will include a 50-megapixel main sensor, as well as an ultra-wide lens and a periscope telephoto camera, improving the flexibility of photography.
In addition, rumors suggest that the OnePlus 13 will have a 6,000mAh battery and support 100W wired charging as well as 50W wireless charging. It is anticipated that the pricing in India will be comparable to the OnePlus 12, potentially beginning at Rs 64,999, but confirmation from the company is still pending.
Vivo X200 series
The launch of the Vivo X200 series in China is scheduled for October 14, revealing a significant change in design. The upcoming Vivo X200 will have flat edges, like the Galaxy S24 series, instead of the curved edges seen on the previous model. The front of it will have a flat screen with very thin edges, enhanced by antenna bands on the metal border. Although the standard model is expected to have a flat screen, reports indicate that the X200 Pro will feature a curved display.
The Vivo X200 will come in blue with a wave design and white with a textured back. There are rumors about more color choices, such as Titanium and Midnight Black. The X200 will continue to have the same prominent circular camera module from the X100 series at the back, which includes ZEISS lenses.
There is still uncertainty regarding the display size, with previous leaks indicating a small 6.3-inch screen, while recent teasers hint that it might be more similar to the 6.78-inch size of the X100. This has sparked speculation about a possible addition of an X200 Mini model to the range. An international launch is anticipated in the future.
Apple M4 Macs
According to sources such as 9To5Mac and tech reporter Mark Gurman, Apple is said to be organizing another event later this year, possibly in October, following its iPhone hardware launch event last month. After last year’s “Scary Fast” event, this year’s event may include the introduction of M4 Macs, such as a revamped M4 Mac mini and a 24-inch iMac. These devices are anticipated to be sent out by the beginning of November.
Furthermore, there may be announcements regarding updates to the iPad range, including the anticipated unveiling of the 11th generation iPad and 7th generation iPad Mini. The upcoming iPad versions may come with A16 or A18 processors, increased starting storage capacity, and a possible price hike for the tablet. The 2021 updated iPad Mini could come with the A18 chip and enhanced Apple Intelligence capabilities.
Finally, the event might also unveil iOS 18.1, a significant upgrade that will provide Apple Intelligence features currently not accessible on the iPhone 16 lineup. This improvement is anticipated to improve user experience by incorporating advanced AI capabilities.
Xiaomi 15
Xiaomi has officially announced that the 15 series will be launched on October 23. Although the pricing has not been revealed yet, it is anticipated that the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro will come with impressive features. Both versions are expected to come with 2K OLED micro-curved screens that have a refresh rate of 120Hz. The Pro model might feature a bigger 6.74-inch screen, whereas the regular version could come with a slightly smaller display.
Fueled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, these devices are an improvement over their earlier models that ran on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Possible camera configurations might consist of a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50K main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra wide lens, and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX8-series periscope telephoto camera featuring 5x optical zoom. Reports suggest that the Xiaomi 15 Pro may come with a 6,000mAh battery and 90W fast charging, exceeding the vanilla model’s 5,000mAh battery for extended use and speedy recharging.
iQOO 13
Although the release date for the iQOO 13 has not been announced, it is a significant event that should not be overlooked. iQOO is anticipated to unveil the iQOO 13 in November 2024 as part of its regular flagship lineup updates. Though not confirmed by the company yet, a recent leak indicates that the iQOO 13 is likely to be equipped with the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. The chipset will be revealed during the Snapdragon Summit on October 21, 2024.
As per the leak, Qualcomm is set to release two versions of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4: the regular SM8750 processor, anticipated for devices such as the iQOO 13 and Xiaomi 15, and the high-performance SM8750P, likely to be featured in top-tier models like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
