Verdict :
The Noise Buds N1 Pro earphones, priced at ₹1,599, are a respectable choice, despite our criticism of its overly bass-forward sound. These earbuds include a number of features common to higher-end models, including as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Transparency Mode, Dual Pairing, and IPX5 water protection, making them a competitive alternative in their price category.
In an increasingly saturated TWS market, cheap earbuds such as the Noise Buds N1 Pro confront fierce competition. These earbuds follow in the footsteps of their more popular and less expensive sister, the Noise Buds N1, which received a lot of attention from Indian consumers. However, with more competitors like Realme, boAt, and Xiaomi making waves in the affordable sector, the Noise Buds N1 Pro must give more than just the fundamentals to stand out. This device offers Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Dual Pairing, and IPX5 grade at a low price of ₹1,599.
At first appearance, these characteristics give the N1 Pro an advantage over many competitors in its pricing range. But does the real-world performance measure up to these lofty expectations? I put the Noise Buds N1 Pro through extensive testing to determine whether it genuinely stands out as a strong contender.
Noise Buds N1 Pro Build and Design: Sleek, Compact, and Comfortable
One of the Noise Buds N1 Pro’s most notable qualities is its design. Upon unboxing, the earbuds have a sleek and minimalist design, with a matte finish that gives them a premium appearance despite their low price. The tiny case enhances portability by readily slipping into pockets without adding any visible heft.
The earbuds are meant to sit comfortably in the ear, featuring silicone tips for a snug and secure fit. The design is crisp and angular, giving off a futuristic vibe. The lightweight design allows for longer use without discomfort.
The Noise Buds N1 Pro is IPX5 water resistant, adding a level of durability that many low-cost earbuds lack. However, while the overall build quality is rather good, the casing hinge feels little weak. It’s a trade-off that may concern consumers hoping for long-term durability, but given the price, it’s a reasonable compromise.
Noise Buds N1 Pro Features: Active Noise Cancellation, Dual Pairing, and much more
One of the Noise Buds N1 Pro’s main selling points is the presence of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a unique feature at this pricing point. Noise cancellation claims to suppress sound by up to 32 decibels, and while it may not compete with luxury earphones, it functions admirably for its price point. The ANC effectively eliminates low-frequency background noise such as air conditioners, traffic hum, and distant voices, making a significant impact in common environments like workplaces or cafés. The buds also include a Transparency Mode, although their implementation appears fake, lacking the clarity found in more expensive choices.
The Noise Buds N1 Pro utilize Bluetooth 5.3, which ensures quick and consistent connectivity with little dips or lags. Despite this, the initial pairing process is somewhat tedious. The earbuds also support dual pairing, which allows you to connect to two devices at the same time and effortlessly switch between them—ideal for multitaskers who flip between phone calls and laptop music.
Touch controls on each earbud let you to control playback, volume, answer calls, and switch between ANC and Transparency Mode. A dedicated Game Mode improves the experience by decreasing latency to 40 ms, and it works well. However, the lack of a companion app means that there are no control customization choices available, which is frustrating.
Sound Quality: High on bass, low on clarity
The noise quality of the Noise Buds N1 Pro is where things become a little tricky. With 11 mm drivers, these earbuds seek to deliver an overly bass-forward sound profile, which is typical of most low-cost TWS choices. What was the result? The bass frequently overpowers the nuances and textures in the middle and high registers. While bass enthusiasts may appreciate this sound profile, audiophiles and purists may be put off.
The vocals lack clarity, and the highs, while clear, are sometimes drowned out by the overbearing sub-bass. The frequency graph below illustrates the extension of the bass response.
Audiophiles who anticipate perfect clarity and instrument separation will be disappointed with the N1 Pro. The soundstage is small, and there is a lack of depth and detail when compared to quality earbuds, but for the price, the overall sound performance is adequate for bass enthusiasts.
When it comes to call quality, the Noise Buds N1 Pro is reliable but not particularly noteworthy. In quiet circumstances, call clarity is excellent, with voices heard clearly on both ends. However, in noisier surroundings, the microphones fail to entirely separate the user’s voice from background noise, which can cause some interference during calls.
Noise Buds N1 Pro Battery Life: Excellent Longevity with Quick Charge
The Noise Buds N1 Pro has an outstanding battery life. The earbuds provide approximately 10 hours of playback on a single charge (without ANC), which increases to a total of 60 hours with the charging case when ANC is switched off. With ANC turned on, the buds last roughly 5 to 6 hours, which is reasonable given the battery-intensive nature of active noise cancellation technology. With the charging case, you should expect around 40 hours of runtime with ANC turned on.
Furthermore, the quick charge technology enables 200 minutes of playback with just a 10-minute charge. Our tests showed that the case charged from empty to full in 1 hour and 48 minutes.
Verdict : No-brainer for bass lovers
The Noise Buds N1 Pro earphones, priced at ₹1,599, are a respectable choice, despite our criticism of its overly bass-forward sound. These earbuds include a number of features common to higher-end models, including as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Transparency Mode, Dual Pairing, and IPX5 water protection, making them a competitive alternative in their price category.
While the call quality may be enhanced, and audiophiles may find the sound lacking in detail, the Buds N1 Pro are adequate for the ordinary user. These earbuds are an excellent option for those looking for inexpensive TWS earbuds with modern features, a long battery life, and adequate overall performance. However, audiophiles may want to consider spending a little more money on alternatives such as the OPPO Enco Air3 Pro. If you’re on a tight budget, corded headphones like the Truthear GATE or Tangzu Wan’er S.G. may provide higher audio quality.
